Google Ads Advertiser Verification: What Dental Practices Need to Know

If your dental practice runs Google Ads—or is thinking about it—there’s a good chance you’ll encounter a request from Google to complete their Advertiser Verification process. It’s legitimate—and it’s not something to ignore. In fact, if you don’t complete it within Google’s required timeframe, your ads will be paused.

Google has been flagging more advertisers for verification in recent months—including many dental practices we work with, so we thought it would be helpful to walk through what this process looks like and how to prepare if your account is next.

If you’re a Bullseye Media PPC client, we’ll handle the process for you. If you manage ads yourself or through another provider, this guide will show you what to expect.

Why Google Requires Advertiser Verification

Google’s goal with this process is transparency. They want users to know who is behind the ads they’re seeing. This initiative is part of a broader effort to:

  • Prevent misleading or fraudulent ads
Bad actors sometimes use ads to impersonate real businesses or promote deceptive services. By verifying advertisers, Google reduces the risk of scams showing up in search results—something especially important in healthcare, where patient trust is critical.
  • Ensure that advertisers are who they say they are
Verification helps confirm that your practice is a legitimate business. This creates a safer environment for users and ensures that real practices like yours aren’t competing against fake or misrepresented entities.
  • Build trust in the advertising ecosystem
When users know Google is vetting advertisers, they’re more likely to trust and engage with ads. That can benefit your campaigns over time, especially as trust plays a bigger role in which ads users click.
  • Promote accountability and transparency
Once verified, some advertiser information (like your business name and location) may be displayed with your ads. While this may sound a bit intimidating, it actually gives your practice more credibility—patients can see you’re a verified, real-world provider.

For your practice, it means jumping through a few administrative hoops—but it’s not overly complex. And once you’re verified, your ads will continue running as usual.

If your account is flagged for verification, here’s what happens—and how we handle it on your behalf.

The 3-Step Verification Process

When a client’s account is selected for verification, Bullseye Media manages the process from start to finish. That includes answering Google’s initial business questions, gathering and submitting required documentation, and monitoring for final approval.

Here’s what we manage behind the scenes:

Step 1: Business Operations Verification

Google begins by asking a series of questions about your practice, such as:

  • What services do you provide?
  • Who are your patients?
  • How is your business structured?

Our team handles this questionnaire for you, using the information we already know about your practice.

Step 2: Identity Verification

Next, Google requires documentation to confirm the legal identity of the advertiser. We’ll let you know exactly what’s needed—usually items like:

  • A government-issued photo ID (which can be provided by Bullseye as your agency of record)
  • Business registration paperwork
  • A W-9 or EIN document
  • A recent utility bill or official document with your practice name and address

Once you provide the necessary documents, we handle the upload and submission directly through your account. You don’t need to log in or navigate any of Google’s forms.

Step 3: Review & Approval

After submission, Google begins its review. We monitor your account closely during this time and confirm once verification is complete. In most cases, this takes 1 to 3 business days, although Google allows up to 10.

If the deadline (usually 30 days) passes without completion, ads are automatically paused—but we make sure that doesn’t happen.

What Happens If You’re Selected

If your account is selected for verification, you’ll receive an email from Google and a prominent alert inside your Google Ads account. We monitor all client accounts closely, so in most cases, we’ll see the alert before you do—and reach out right away to get the process started.

From there:

  • We’ll walk you through exactly what’s needed
  • You’ll send us any required documents
  • We’ll submit everything and keep track of Google’s response

The deadline is typically 30 days. If it passes without action, your ads will be paused—but we make sure that doesn’t happen.

Tips for a Smooth Verification

While we manage the process on your behalf, a few simple steps on your end can help things go faster:

  • Ensure your business documentation is accurate and accessible
  • Respond promptly when we request documents
  • Use a consistent business name and address across official materials
  • Let us know if your legal name or business structure has changed recently

The more prepared you are, the smoother the process—and the sooner your ads are fully verified.
